Here’s my process post for my Lady Lamb The Beekeeper‘s poster for SPACE Gallery. This poster came together quite nicely and is a collaboration between myself and Aly Spaltro, she even printed a little bit, which was fun!
Ended up with a few different editions of this print. 30 posters were left uncut, so both images are on the same piece of paper measuring 15″-18″. All signed and numbered.
The cut versions have an edition of 68 and 70. Measuring 7.5″-18″. Signed and numbered. All printed on Bright White French Paper.
These will be for sale at Lady lamb’s going away show at SPACE Gallery on Oct. 29th. And also for sale on my Etsy store .

Above are the first 2 sketches of the posters, at first I was only going to make one poster but after drawing these two different ideas I decided it wold be pretty fun to make a double poster. Which was not much harder because both posters have the same colors and were printed at the same time.

First layer of light blue.

Over the next week I will be slowly releasing some of my test prints, maybe 2 or 3 a day. Starting with the My Morning Jacket and Josh Ritter & The Low Anthem prints.
I’ve been holding onto these for awhile now and really love these things! most prints shown here include anywhere from 2 different posters to up to 10 maybe? It’s hard to tell after awhile on some of them. They include MMJ, Josh Ritter, Ted Leo, Mastodon, Marie Stella, Wolf Parade, The Moools, Murder By Death, Moving Mountains, The Sophomore Beat, Caspian, Arms and Sleepers, Panda Bandits, Jesse Pilgrim, Johnny Cash Night at SPACE Gallery, Teeth Print, Deer Tick, Lewis & Clarke and maybe some other’s. All of the prints are printed on top of each other to make individual prints of their own and change drastically every time another print is put on top of the other, some of these prints started by messing up on a print and using that as a text sample when printing other prints, cleaning screens and testing colors. I always keep a stack of old posters near me every time I print a new poster.
These will be available on my Etsy store, and will all be different prices based on the print, quality of the paper, dents and dings, and some of these are printed on thicker stock which might make the shipping vary for different prints. The other cool thing is, is that there is only 1 of each, never to be created again! These will also be signed by me.
If you have any other questions about a specific print please feel free to email me at krisgjohnsen@gmail.com

Last nights show was pretty amazing, more for the fact that i was actually inside the State seeing a really great rock show for the first time since seeing Thrice and My Chemical Romance when I was in high school, and I’ve been in this town for quite some time now. Great night, passed out a whole lotta posters at the end of the night! I hope everyone who went got one. If you did not I will have a few available at the Open house at the State as well as on my Etsy store, if you buy a My Morning Jacket Print I will include a free 11in.-17in. digital print that was passed out that night. I also have a few test prints from the My morning Jacket and Josh Ritter series on at my store.
Thanks again to Lauren and everyone at the State! see you tomorrow!

Thanks to my awesome girlfriend for helping me hand out 1,500 FREE posters!!!
This is about 1/4 of the posters.

Thanks to everyone who has picked up a My Morning Jacket poster or Josh Ritter one so far! It really means a lot when someone buys your work, hope everyone enjoys them as much as I do!
If you would still like to pick one up I will be at the State Theatre open House on Sunday the 17th. Come say hi!
And they are still available online at my ETSY store.
Also the Lady Lamb posters are half way printed and will be available at the show for the first time. Please pick up your tickets in advance for this show, I have a feeling it will sell out, and if it doesn’t then it should!

Above are the newly finished Lady Lamb The Beekeeper DOUBLE POSTERS!!! These are for her going away show at SPACE Gallery on October 29th, with Jacob Augustine, Pearl & The Beard & Panda Bandits. They are meant be go side by side, but are also separate posters. These will be a 4 color screen print and will be done shortly.
All the drawings in the posters were done by myself and Aly Spaltro, Lady Lamb herself. I just realized she has a brand new website also, you should really go check that out!
Keep an eye our for some new Lady Lamb t-shirts in the very near future also!

Take a look at some shirts I printed up for Portland Velocipede! They are a brand new bike shop in Portland, located at 45 York St. in Portland, right near Portland Pie. Super nice people over there! I’m no bike expert but they also seem to have very good prices on bikes and biking things also. So if your looking or need your bike fixed up you should go check them out! Also dont wait till next summer to get your bike repaired or get a tune up, go in the winter so you dont have to wait 3 weeks to get your bike back in the beginning of summer!
These shirts are only available through Portland Velocipede.

As some of you may know I also run a smaller 1 inch pin project with my friend Bryan Bruchman called Portland Pins, where we turn hand drawn pin designs made by many different artists into 1 inch pins and sell out of gumball machines. We also offer custom pin making, so if you ever need pins made you’ve found the place! My prices are available here.
This little project has turned into something greater than I thought it would! If your interested in designing your own pins for our project please visit our website.
Right now I’m currently making 2,000 pins for MECA, they have a brand new website, you can visit it here! All the pins are art or photos of MECA related things, these are designed by student artist Jeff Hoffman.
